I visited the Brookings Foundation, The Heritage Foundation, the Cato Institute, and the American Enterprise Institute last week in Washington DC. All of the economists we spoke to expressed their concern for the impending crisis funding Social Security and Medicare. Economists have been warning of the problem for decades, but little has been done because of a lack of political will by the leadership represented in both parties.
